A bland burrito took away from a nicely decorated place with plenty of Veg options. This place looked like a great option for a nice meal while visiting Armidale. Unfortunately although the restaurant was not busy, the starter and main took 40 minutes to arrive together. The Corn on the Cob was tasty but the Dora burrito and accompanying Guac just didn't have much taste at all. Lots of white rice and not much spice makes for a boring Burrito. When I mentioned it at the till the staff member sort of shrugged. Meh.
Meals took almost 2 hours to arrive. Most guests went home. Embarrasing as many were from out of town. I'll never set foot in the place again.
Lovely service and tasty food. The only thing letting this restaurant down is the air conditioning, it was far too hot to truly enjoy our meal.
Love the food and the vibe, great place to eat in Armidale. My next visit was not as good :-( The service was lackluster and the staff were a bit short with us and we had to interrupt them hiding in the bar to get them to take our orders and even then ordering drinks became too hard. The table did not get cleared between courses and the food was only just passable. In defense of the staff, it was a hot night and there was a problem with the cooling which made everyone sit there in a lather of sweat. It was a memorable visit, but for all of the wrong reasons.
This is about the 4th time Ive had a dinner here, absolutely love it. The cocktails have a great mix, not a fan of the Dusty Wanderer, the Peach Elephant is delicious and well balanced. Love that vegan options are not only provided but cheerily delivered. For a group, the mates plates option is incredible, a fantastic mix of dishes and more than enough for everyone. Everything was well timed - although it was a little difficult to get attention to replenish drinks, the water was regularly checked and refilled. Will be back (again) to try the hot rocks......
